Matthew 25:20 records the first servant's report in the Parable of the Talents. The address 'Domine' (Lord) acknowledges Christ's sovereignty. The 'quinque talenta tradidisti' (five talents thou didst deliver) emphasizes the master's initiative - the servant received, he did not earn initially. The 'alia quinque superlucratus sum' (I have gained other five besides) shows 100% return through faithful trading. At Vespers, as the workday ends and accounts are rendered, this antiphon presents the confessor as the ideal steward whose faithful work doubled his master's investment - now rewarded with 'intra in gaudium Domini tui.'
