The Magnificat antiphon for Pentecost Ember Wednesday Vespers, presenting Christ's discourse on the Bread of Life (John 6:51). The Ember Day fast finds its completion in the Eucharistic banquet, where the Living Bread nourishes the Church for her mission.

Ego sum panis vivus, dicit Dominus, qui de caelo descendi: si quis manducaverit ex hoc pane, vivet in aeternum: et panis, quem ego dabo, caro mea est pro mundi vita, alleluia.
ENGLISH
I am the living bread, saith the Lord, which came down from heaven: If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world, alleluia.
