Responsorium V - Nocturn II
Passion Sunday, Nocturn II, Responsory 2
About This Prayer
This fifth responsory for Passion Sunday draws from Job 19:13-14: 'My brethren have departed far from me, and my acquaintance like strangers have forsaken me.' The abandonment by friends, fulfilled in the disciples' flight during the Passion, is a central theme. The responsory invites meditation on Christ's isolation in suffering.
