About This Prayer
The brief responsory at None during Ascensiontide expands on Christ's words: 'I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and to your God.' The verse adds from Psalm 10: 'The Lord in heaven hath prepared his throne.' The ninth hour, when Christ died, is now transformed by Ascension: Christ's death leads to His heavenly enthronement.
