Tempus Passionis - Capitulum ad Tertiam in Feriis (Jer. 17:13)

This chapter at Terce during Passiontide ferias draws from Jeremiah 17:13: 'O Lord, all that forsake thee shall be confounded; they that depart from thee shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the vein of living waters.' The imagery of living waters prefigures the water and blood flowing from Christ's side. Those who abandon Christ are contrasted with those who remain faithful.
