Antiphona ad Magnificat (II Vesperis)

From Luke 1:48-49, this antiphon extends the Lourdes text with the sanctity of God's name: 'Beatam me dicent omnes generationes, quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est, et sanctum nomen ejus' (all generations shall call me blessed, because he who is mighty hath done great things to me, and holy is his name). The addition of 'sanctum nomen ejus' directs attention from Mary to God - her blessedness reflects His holiness. At Second Vespers of the Queenship, this antiphon completes Mary's hymn with its theocentric conclusion: the Queen points always to the King.
