Prayer Text
LATINE
Adiuva me, Domine, ad implendum poenitentiam mihi datam.
Adiuva me in gratia tua perseverare
et in futurum peccata quae confessus sum vitare.
Concede mihi virtutem resistendi tentationi et emendandi vitam meam.
Passio Domini nostri Iesu Christi,
merita beatae Mariae Virginis et omnium Sanctorum,
quidquid boni fecero et mali sustinuero,
sint mihi in remissionem peccatorum,
in augmentum gratiae, et in praemium vitae aeternae. Amen.
Cor Iesu Sacratissimum,
miserere nobis.
Cor Mariae Immaculatum,
ora pro nobis.
ENGLISH
O Almighty and most merciful God,
I thank Thee for having forgiven my sins through the ministry of Thy priest.
I thank Thee for this great Sacrament of Thy mercy,
by which Thou dost restore the wounded soul to grace and spiritual health.
Help me, O Lord, to fulfill the penance which has been given me.
Help me to persevere in Thy grace
and to avoid in the future those sins which I have confessed.
Grant me the strength to resist temptation and to amend my life.
May the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the merits of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of all the Saints,
whatever good I may do and evil I may suffer,
be to me for the remission of my sins,
the increase of grace, and the reward of eternal life. Amen.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus,
have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
pray for us.
