Prayer Text

LATINE
V. Adoramus te, Christe, et benedicimus tibi.
R. Quia per sanctam Crucem tuam redemisti mundum.
STATIO IV — Iesus obviat Matri suae afflictae
Considera occursum Filii et Matris, quem Maria in via habuit.
Numquam permittas ut iterum a te separar.
Pater Noster. Ave Maria. Gloria Patri.
V. Miserere nostri, Domine.
R. Miserere nostri.
ENGLISH
V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we bless Thee.
R. Because by Thy holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the world.
STATION IV — Jesus Meets His Afflicted Mother
Consider the meeting of the Son and the Mother on the way to Calvary. Jesus and Mary looked at each other, and their glances pierced their hearts. Mary would have died instead of her Son.
My most loving Jesus and my sorrowful Mother Mary, by the sorrow you experienced in this meeting, grant me the grace of being truly devoted to thy Mother. And thou, my Mother, Refuge of sinners, intercede for me now and at the hour of my death.
I love Thee, my Jesus, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.
Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory Be.
V. Have mercy on us, O Lord.
R. Have mercy on us.
