"Omnipotens Sermo tuus, Domine" (Thy almighty Word, O Lord) from Wisdom 18:15 presents the Word leaping from royal thrones. This sapiential text became Christmas Matins' antiphon for the third nocturn. The pre-existent Word's descent from heaven consummates Advent's longing.
