A responsory sung after the a lesson at Matins during Septuagesima. The responsory form—with its verse and repeated refrain—allows meditation on the Scripture just proclaimed.

R. Redime me, Domine, * Et miserere mei. Redime. V. Pes enim meus stetit in via recta. Et miserere mei. Gloria Patri. Redime. V. Ab occultis meis munda me, Domine. R. Et ab alienis parce servo tuo.
ENGLISH
R. Redeem me, O Lord, * And have mercy on me. Redeem. V. My foot hath stood in the direct way. And have mercy on me. Glory be. Redeem. V. From my secret sins cleanse me, O Lord. R. And from those of others spare thy servant.
