Station IX — Jesus Falls the Third Time

Station IX: Jesus falls the third time. 'His weakness was extreme, and the cruelty of the executioners excessive.' This station asks for strength to overcome 'all human respect and all evil examples' that draw us from perfection.

STATIO IX — Iesus cadit tertia vice
Considera tertium casum Iesu. Debilitas eius erat extrema, et crudelitas carnificum excessiva, qui ei festinare imperabant, cum vix se movere posset.
Iesu mi, per merita debilitatis quam passus es in via ad Calvariam, da mihi fortitudinem sufficientem ad vincendas omnes humanas considerationes et omnia mala exempla quae me a perfectione retrahunt.
Amo te, Iesu mi, super omnia, et ex toto corde me poenitet quod offenderim te. Numquam permittas ut iterum a te separar. Da ut semper te amem, et postea fac de me quidquid tibi placuerit.

STATION IX — Jesus Falls the Third Time
Consider the third fall of Jesus. His weakness was extreme, and the cruelty of the executioners excessive, who commanded Him to hasten when He could scarcely move.
My Jesus, by the merits of the weakness Thou didst suffer on the way to Calvary, give me sufficient strength to overcome all human respect and all evil examples which would draw me from perfection.
I love Thee, my Jesus, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.
