REGINA CAELI
Queen of Heaven
About This Prayer
Regina Caeli ('Queen of Heaven, rejoice') is the joyful Marian antiphon of Eastertide, sung at Compline from Easter Sunday through Pentecost Saturday. Its four-fold Alleluia expresses paschal joy. According to legend, Pope St. Gregory the Great heard angels singing this antiphon during a plague in Rome. It replaces the Angelus during Eastertide.
