VIA CRVCIS — STATIO XIII
Station XIII — Jesus Is Taken Down from the Cross
About This Prayer
Station XIII: Jesus is taken down from the Cross. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus placed the body of Jesus in the arms of His sorrowful Mother. The meditation addresses both the 'most sorrowful Mother' and the Redeemer: 'I desire nothing but Thee.'
Prayer Text
LATINE
V. Adoramus te, Christe, et benedicimus tibi.
R. Quia per sanctam Crucem tuam redemisti mundum.
Numquam permittas ut iterum a te separar. Da ut semper te amem, et postea fac de me quidquid tibi placuerit.
Pater Noster. Ave Maria. Gloria Patri.
V. Miserere nostri, Domine.
R. Miserere nostri.
ENGLISH
V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we bless Thee.

STATION XIII — Jesus Is Taken Down from the Cross
Consider how two disciples, Joseph and Nicodemus, took Jesus down from the Cross and placed Him in the arms of His sorrowful Mother.
O most sorrowful Mother, by the love with which thou lovest thy Son, accept me as thy servant and pray for me. And Thou, my Jesus, my Redeemer, since Thou didst die for me, permit me to love Thee, for I desire nothing but Thee.
I love Thee, my Jesus, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.
Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory Be.
V. Have mercy on us, O Lord.
R. Have mercy on us.
